St. Dominic Savio College is an unaided Minority Educational Institution (F. No. 1480 of 2006/14307) Established and administered by the Catholic Diocese of Lucknow, a Society Registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. It was founded in 1977 with the object of imparting modern education to Catholic Students in a manner that will conserve their “religion, language and culture” but admission is not denied to students professing other faiths. The college is named after St. Dominic Savio, a model and example for young boys and girls.
The Patron, Saint Dominic was born in Riva, Italy, on 2nd April, 1842. While he was very young, he cherished the ideals of cheerfulness, truthfulness and honesty. In the school he was a lovable friend To all and was ready to help his companions. He could not continue serving his fellowmen very long as he was called to his eternal reward at the young age of 15 on 9th march, 1857.
The life of Dominic Savio has been a great inspiration to many a youth and his motto has been:
“DO GOOD TO ALL”, “DEATH RATHER THAN SIN”
The college aims at the integral and personal formation of young children by giving them an education which is morally, mentally, socially and spiritually sound.
The College encourages the students to keep their ideals high and strive for excellence in every field. It endeavors to inculcate in them the value of freedom and its judicious use, respect of law and order. It also teaches them to abide by moral principles, to be unselfish in the service of their country and fellowmen.
The College is affiliated to I.C.S.E. and I.S.C. Board, New Delhi and admits boys and girls from Nursery To Class XII.
